Glassblowing Experience Morning (Half-Day)

A great glassblowing 'taster' and introduction to the magic of glass. You will gather hot molten glass straight from the furnace and shape into two objects. Through hands-on making you will gain first-hand insight into this ancient craft.

3-Day Glassblowing (Beginner)

Discover the potential of glassmaking over three days, enough time to fully immerse yourself in hot glass blowing techniques. This is an excellent fun and stimulating course for those looking for a more solid foundation and better understanding of glassblowing techniques.

3-Day Kilnworking

Get creative with glass and explore a range of techniques for manipulating glass in the kiln. You'll experiment with glass fusing, reactive fusing, iridescent fusing and deep fusing. We will also look at relief casting, slumping, drop-out moulds, pot melts and open-faced moulds - creating form and texture in cast glass.

Lampworking Beads

Discover the art of lampworking beads. One of our experienced glass tutors will guide you through the fundamentals of lampworking (flameworking) using a torch. You will work from your own torch to design and make 10 or more beads over the day, using a wide selection of colours and processes.

Masterclass: Textures to Embrace – Katie Huskie

Ever seen a piece of art that you have had that instant connection with and all you have wanted to do is reach out and touch it? In this three-day masterclass Katherine Huskie will guide you through a variety of techniques and methods to manipulate hot glass and create amazing different textures and patterns.

The Glass Hub Spring School

Discover what this amazing material can do by spending five whole days with us exploring a range of glassmaking techniques including glass blowing, kiln forming, fusing as well as beadmaking and sandcasting. Explore ‘Pop Art’ in glass with the artist Opal Seabrook. Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to discover how to build colourful, graphic 3D artworks in fused glass. Opal will share with you the techniques she has developed over ten years evolving her unique style.

Masterclass: The Freedom of the One-Off – Joseph Harrington

There is a great freedom in the 'one off'. The practice of a maker need not involve producing multiples of one thing. This course is aimed at embracing a spontaneous approach to the initial modelling process through looking at ways to be creative with materials and taking a more spontaneous view of cold working.
