One Day Glassblowing

Our one day glassblowing course is both an exciting experience day and a great introduction to glassblowing for beginners. Learn the fundamentals of this ancient craft while you make your own glass objects, using hot, molten glass straight from the furnace.

Optical Fusing

Discover the potential of heat, volume and displacement to create amazing optical effects with fused glass. You will use Bullseye glass and stringers to create intricate patterns, which when fused will compress and stretch to create lens-like effects.

3-Day Glassblowing (Further)

If you already have some blowing experience then take your glassblowing to the next stage. The focus of this class will be to learn to work more independently - blowing tumblers, working with colour and much more! Fully immerse yourself in the process, move at your own pace and stretch your limits.

3-Day Glassblowing (Beginner)

Discover the potential of glassmaking over three days, enough time to fully immerse yourself in hot glass blowing techniques. This is an excellent fun and stimulating course for those looking for a more solid foundation and better understanding of glassblowing techniques.

Pattern Bar

Explore the potential of pattern bar or ‘murrine’ techniques to make highly detailed elements for fusing into larger projects, or for smaller jewellery components. Striking patterns and effects can be achieved with this deceptively simple technique.

Reactive Fusing

Combine Bullseye sheet glass, powder, frit or metal foils to create reactions when fusing, resulting in special colours and effects. We will experiment with the use of lead, copper and sulphur bearing glasses, as well as red reactive, in sheet glass, stringer and frit form, to create amazing reactive combinations.

One Day Glass Fusing

Discover the art of fusing glass and explore a variety of techniques. You will learn the fundamentals of glass cutting, assembly, accessory glass, metal inclusions, and kiln firing under the expert guidance of the Glass Hub Tutors. A great introduction for beginners or artists working in other mediums to experiment with this art form.

Masterclass: Textures to Embrace – Katie Huskie

Ever seen a piece of art that you have had that instant connection with and all you have wanted to do is reach out and touch it? In this two-day masterclass Katherine Huskie will guide you through a variety of techniques and methods to manipulate hot glass and create amazing different textures and patterns.

3-Day Kilnworking

Get creative with glass and explore a range of techniques for manipulating glass in the kiln. You'll experiment with glass fusing, reactive fusing, iridescent fusing and deep fusing. We will also look at relief casting, slumping, drop-out moulds, pot melts and open-faced moulds - creating form and texture in cast glass.
