Our one day glassblowing course is both an exciting experience day and a great introduction to glassblowing for beginners. Learn the fundamentals of this ancient craft while you make your own glass objects, using hot, molten glass straight from the furnace.
Discover the art of flameworking glass and create your own beautiful beads and tiny sculpture using a wide selection of colours and processes. You will learn the fundamentals of flameworking, also known as lampworking, with demonstrations and plenty of practice time, working from your own torch.
Get creative with glass and explore a range of techniques for manipulating glass in the kiln. You'll experiment with glass fusing, reactive fusing, iridescent fusing and deep fusing. We will also look at relief casting, slumping, drop-out moulds, pot melts and open-faced moulds, creating form and texture in cast glass.
If you already have some blowing experience then take your glassblowing to the next stage. The focus of this class will be to learn to work more independently - blowing tumblers, working with colour and much more! Fully immerse yourself in the process, move at your own pace and stretch your limits.
