Masterclass – Venetian Stemware – Dave Barry

A fast paced masterclass on Venetian style glass stemware. The course aims to provide a grounding in the technique used to blow delicate, thin-walled goblets. You will be taught how to use optic moulds, to create blown stems and blown feet, as well as working efficiently as a team. With demonstrations and plenty of hands-on learning, this course will push your glassmaking to new limits.

One Day Further Glassblowing

The ideal follow-on course to our one-day or half-day classes. You will learn the fundamental skills of hot glass sculpture to shape a flower and a bird - getting the feel of how to master this magical material, followed by a blown piece like perhaps a tumbler. In the afternoon expand your skills to create a bowl, or plate.

Masterclass: Venetian Cane Techniques – Dave Barry

Create Venetian style vessels using cane, with master glassblower Dave Barry. Practice pulling and rolling up cane, forming hollow vessels while absorbing techniques of production and teamwork. Students will each learn how to pull their own cane, then create supio to make a series of small cups to make into tumblers (cups).
