£695.00Course Outline
In this multi-disciplinary masterclass, Laura Quinn will guide you through the process of creating intricate lampworked glass forms using cane pulled from furnace glass. The formations will be preheated and applied to blown vessels in the glass hotshop on the final day of the course. The emphasis will be on experimentation, and is suitable for beginner and intermediate students, who can embrace failure as being part of the learning curve in testing the limits of interdisciplinary making.
Schedule
- Day 1- Introduction to lampworking with furnace glass. We will cover techniques of how to flatten and shape petals, assemble botanical structures and other assemblages, and figurine work.
- Day 2- Creation of refined lampworked pieces to be used in the hotshop.
