Get creative with glass and explore a range of techniques for manipulating glass in the kiln. You'll experiment with glass fusing, reactive fusing, iridescent fusing and deep fusing. We will also look at relief casting, slumping, drop-out moulds, pot melts and open-faced moulds - creating form and texture in cast glass.
A superb introduction to 3D glass forming techniques using moulds to create unique and personal kiln cast glass pieces. You will work with a variety of materials to make models ready for casting using the 'open cast' and 'lost wax' methods.
Discover the potential of heat, volume and displacement to create amazing optical effects with fused glass. You will use Bullseye glass and stringers to create intricate patterns, which when fused will compress and stretch to create lens-like effects.
